A message from the Assistant Principal, RIM

21.05.19

Dear SJMS Community

The Easter season is a significant time in our Church and for ourselves. Bishop Greg O’Kelly in The Southern Cross asks us, “What are the signs of resurrection in our lives? They are there in the hope, love, kindness and goodness that surrounds us, but we must look.”

It is through our Baptism, that we are called to be the face of Christ. We are challenged to do this by transmitting our faith; through prayer, acts of service and penance, studying the scripture and by asking ourselves how we can be Christ's hands, feet and eyes on earth? In this way, we are living out the Easter message of resurrection.

THANK YOU, LORD

Thank you, Lord,

for the gift of Your love.

May I be a shining

example of that love to others.

Amen.

‘Cure Brain Cancer’ Walkathon

This Friday, the whole school will participate in the ‘Cure Brain Cancer’ walkathon. Students from both William Street and Bridge Street will walk to Borthwick Park where they will come together and play. Students will then return to school by 10am.  A gold coin donation to support this fundraiser would be appreciated. All students are encouraged to wear their Sports Uniform on the day and if they like, may wear a purple ribbon. Thank you in advance for your generous donations.

Pre-service Teachers

Pre-service teachers from Uni SA and Charles Sturt University have this week begun working in the Year 5 and 6/7 classes for the next 5 weeks. We welcome to our community: Eloise Di Sisto, Mirella Romeo, Kira Matiscsak and Clare Morley. This experience gives students the opportunity work with students as part of a team and develop skills that will support them in their future teaching career.
