A message from the Parents and Friends Committee

02.04.19

Dear SJMS Community Members

The P&F would love to support businesses linked to the SJMS community; we often purchase items for lunch orders, fundraising events and morning teas and we would welcome contacts for businesses that might be keen to build an ongoing relationship. The community at SJMS is generous in its time and spirit and we hope to extend this in our ongoing willingness to support our community and local businesses. As an extension to this over the coming weeks you will see some information sent out regarding a network/directory being put together for SJMS community members to list business details for only the school community to access. If you own or operate a business, or are able to provide a skill or service, keep an eye out for the information.

P&F General Meeting

We will be holding a P&F General Meeting on Friday 5 April at 1:45pm (before the William St Friday assembly) in the William St staff room for anyone that would like to catch up on all things P&F, we welcome any new ideas or feedback you may have.

Parent Workshop

St Joseph’s Memorial School P&F Committee are proud to host the ‘Pathways to a Healthy Mind’ session with Clinical Psychologist Dr Tom Nehmy. This session is tailored for parents and caregivers of primary school aged children. In the session, our presenter, Psychologist Dr Tom Nehmy, will discuss the keys to resilience, mental health & wellbeing from early childhood onwards, all based on award-winning university research. It is being held on Tuesday 30 April 2019 in the St Ignatius Church Hall from 7pm to 8pm. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased via the SJMS QKR app, cash or credit via the Bridge St Office 8364 1164 or email sjmspf@sjms.catholic.edu.au - RSVP by Monday 29 April. You can purchase as many tickets as you like and can extend the invitation to any friends or family that maybe interested. See more information here.

Fundraising

We are looking for people that would like to give their time to help co-ordinate the SJMS major fundraiser for 2019. We rely on the generous support of our community to run events and raise money for the school and the major fundraiser is always a great way to connect with other parents and support the school community. If you think you would like to help plan the event, organise silent auction items/donations and get this great community event off the ground please contact us  sjmspf@sjms.catholic.edu.au. It requires a team of people to organise but is also great fun in the process.

Mother's Day

It will all be about Mother's Day as Term 2 kicks off. We have our Mother's Day Stalls on Wednesday 8 May (Week 2) and the annual Mother's Day Morning Tea and Liturgy on Friday 10 May.

Lunch Order

To wrap up the term our lovely lunch order team have organised a Marryatville Pizza Pan lunch for the kids on Friday 12 April (last day of Term 1). A great way to start the holidays!

We hope you all have a lovely Easter break with family and friends.

If you would like to contact us or offer ideas or support events please email us at sjmspf@sjms.catholic.edu.au

Many thanks
