A message from the Parents and Friends Committee

Dear Parents and Caregivers

Quiz Night

Only THREE weeks until the annual SJMS Quiz Night! You can still buy tickets for this wonderful community event via QKR or from either front office; it’s shaping up to be a great night with some wonderful items up for offer. If you have any Auction Items still to donate it's not too late, please let us know or drop them into the front office at either campus. All money raised goes back into the school to benefit our children, it’s a great way to have a fun night out with friends and do a little shopping at the same time!

To make this night a success we will be needing some volunteers to help with wrapping auction items – this will take place on the mornings of 30/31 August at William St, transporting items on the afternoon of the 1st September and helping on the night with games and raffle ticket selling. If you can help with any of these please let us know.

You would have seen the note go out for Hamper Donation/Casual Day which is this Friday 17 August. On this day children are invited to wear casual clothes and in return to bring 1 item, as per the class theme, as their contribution to their class’ Quiz Night Hamper. These Hampers will form part of the Silent Auction for Quiz Night and contribute to the overall funds raised on the night.

We know it isn’t always easy to find time to purchase your contribution so if you’d prefer us to do the shopping for you, you are welcome to make a monetary donation which we will use to purchase a hamper item, on your child’s behalf.

Please refer to the note for further information.

Lunch Orders

Thanks to all the helpers who organised the Mary MacKillop Feast Day lunch orders. Lunch orders are always an exciting day for the children… and parents! We have been very fortunate to have Vikki and Rebecca organise the lunch orders for quite a while and we are now looking for some new volunteers to keep the tradition alive. If you are interested in learning more about organising the ordering and admin of the lunch orders, please contact us.

Bunnings Sausage Sizzle

We would like to thank Foodland Norwood who very generously donated all the sausages (about 29 kg) towards our Bunnings Sausage Sizzle fundraiser in the holidays. With their support we were able to raise $1000 on the day which goes directly back into the school. It was such a great day that we will add it to the fundraising schedule again next year.

Warm regards

Bridget and Megan
