A message from the Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers

This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. In the Gospel, Jesus appeared and breathed the Holy Spirit into his friends. These days, coming to faith is a journey where we discover God’s existence within the realities of our life experiences. This can happen through prayer and reflection. Regular time to pray and reflect is a wonderful practice that can aid with our spiritual growth and enable us to identify our unique gifts.

World Environment Day

Today we celebrate World Environment Day which is the United Nations day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment. World Environment Day began in 1974 and has grown to become a global platform and is celebrated in over 100 countries.

Each World Environment Day a theme is developed that draws attention to a particularly pressing environmental concern at that period of time. The theme for 2019 is 'Air pollution'.

A message from the Assistant Principal RIM

Dear Parents and Caregivers

This Sunday we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost.

At Pentecost, Christ promised his Apostles that He would send his Holy Spirit, and on Pentecost, they were granted the gifts of the Spirit. The Apostles began to preach the Gospel in all of the languages that the Jews who were gathered there spoke, and about 3,000 people were converted and baptised that day.

Pentecost is the birth of the Church and a cause for great jubilation because we have received the power of the Spirit just as Jesus’ followers did on the day of the Spirit’s arrival!

As people of God upon receiving this great gift we are sent out into the world to bring about Jesus’ peace, joy, love and forgiveness to everyone.

This is why Pentecost is often called 'the birthday of the Church'. On this day, with the descent of the Holy Spirit, Christ's mission was completed, and the New Covenant inaugurated.

Catholic Police Checks for Volunteers

Catholic Police Checks are free to submit for volunteers!

Application Forms are available from either school office.

It is the responsibility of all Catholic organisations, including Catholic Schools and Parishes, to ensure that all volunteers have a current Catholic Archdiocese Police Clearance.

In accordance with the Children’s Protection Act, the Catholic Police Check Unit which is part of the Professional Standards Office of the Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide has been established for the processing of police clearances within the Catholic system.

Volunteers and contractors who do not have a current Catholic Police Clearance are unable to perform their duties at or for any Catholic School or Parish.

This process ensures we maintain a child safe environment. To avoid disappointment, we encourage you to apply for a Catholic Police Check through either school office.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at either office.

Thanking you
